Lone Star Court – Austin, TX

Whether you call it “An Homage to Classic Americana” or “Rustic Quintessential Texas”… The Lone Star Court is definitely one of Austin’s (newest) and coziest places to stay. The boutique ‘motor court of yesteryear’ inspired hotel stood out when I had to pick a place for myself and “the boy” to stay while visiting friends because of it’s hip decor and retro vibe (and thank goodness for New Year’s specials). The hotel is built like a complex, with a free standing front office; three buildings that house the 123 rooms that surround an open courtyard that is complete with fire pit, lounge areas, pool area and nature; two food trucks and the restaurant/bar.

After the easy breezy check-in, we whisked ourselves to our room on the second floor. After the quick ride up the elevator, we walked down the long exterior corridor to our room. Each room is outfitted with a relaxed porch-like setting, which includes a small table and two rocking chairs. I loved how they brightened the wooden walls with pops of orange in the chairs and the baby blue door. The room did not disappoint in interior design. The bed frame and bedside lamps were very industrial chic, while the sitting nook maintained a relaxed retro feel (I literally could have slept on the couch… it was THAT comfy, in my opinion). Other additions to the room included a vintage full-size refrigerator (well stocked, but for a fee), a large wooden wardrobe, a sizable faux pull-down desk with director’s chair and LATHER body products in the bathroom.

In the morning, we partook of the complimentary continental breakfast that was held at The Water Trough. The hearty breakfast included biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, a variety of cereal, yogurt and fruit, plus coffee, juices and teas.

Overall, I enjoyed staying at Lone Star Court. I thought that the staff was friendly and attentive. The room was clean and met my needs (plus, can never go wrong with cable and wifi). Had the weather have been more cooperative, we probably would’ve enjoyed the patio, food trucks and courtyard more…however there will always be next time.
