Grand Opening of FABRIC – Tempe, AZ
Recently, Phoenix designer and CEO of Labelhorde– Angela Johnson, joined forces with other Arizona fashion companies- Arizona Fashion Source and Arizona Apparel Foundation and created one overall fashion resource center- FABRIC (Fashion And Business Resource Innovation Center). The center is based in Tempe, and provides studio space, event space, incubator services, design studio supplier, and showroom space for Arizona-based students, designers, brands, and fashionistas who want to create, learn, and connect with one another.
I attended their Grand Opening celebration at their new three-story, 23,000 square foot building in December. Kicking off the event was a fabric cutting ceremony with Tempe’s Mayor Mitchell and Johnson, followed by a self-guided tour of the facilities. After the tour, we listened as local TV personality Pat McMahon spoke to us about the building and about the non-profit Arizona Apparel Foundation. A runway presentation by the in-house technical designer Tabitha Holmes and her brand- House of Holmes followed the discussion.
This facility is a great new addition to Tempe, and the city of Phoenix. I look forward to watching it, and Arizona’s fashion industry, grow and prosper. For more information, go to AZ Apparel Foundation’s website.
