Modern Day Frida
(Vintage Skirt- My Sister’s Closet, Vintage Shoes- Goodwill, Vintage Tooled Handbag- Arbor Antiques estate sale, Vintage Top- Pink Rhino, Vintage Hat- Coronation Vintage, Statement Necklace- DIY by me, Vintage Cuffs- Various Thrift Shops)
When you finally get a moment to go check out the Frida + Diego exhibit at the Heard Museum, you just gotta dress for it! Legendary Mexican artist- Frida Kahlo and her “I’ll wear whatever I the hell I want” style has always been an inspiration for me. When the Mr and I went to the exhibit, I knew I had to dress for the occasion. I had also recently (at the time) made a statement necklace from a yarn doll I had found at a local thrift store, so I wanted to have that as the focal point. Also, the colorful paper flower wall outside the museum entrance couldn’t be more perfect!
Only you can pull off that statement necklace! Love the look and it’s perfect for the Frida exhibit!
LOL, thank you Stacy!
Wow, the colors make me smile and are so vibrant. That ‘s to cool that you made that necklace.
We all have a bit of Frida in us. Nice post.
You encourage me to mix it up some more. I have all these wonderful colorful things in my closet from clothing to accessories. Each time I see something like how you pull it all together gives me an idea on how I can make my outfits not so matchy matchy.
Such a bold outfit but it works, and the accessories are awesome. I could see borrowing that shirt too. 🙂
Love yellow and all the colors!
Omg I totally love this entire outfit !
You are such a bright spirit and these photos show your personality perfectly!
Bright, bold, and beautiful!
Amazing! I’m heading to a Frida and Diego exhibit at the DMA for her 110th birthday and will be part of (hopefully) setting a record for the most ppl dressed like Frida in one space ever!
Love this! It is so cool that you were able to create a necklace from a yarn doll! XO and Stay FAB!
