Metro Arts presents the 2011 Holiday Collection of Ermelinda Manos Designs.

Join Metro Arts for an evening of art and fashion at Lady Silvia Lounge, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Metro Arts Council of Southern Nevada welcomes the style and glamour of the holiday, with an invitation to walk the Red Carpet and preview the latest collection of Las Vegas designer, Ermelinda Manos, from LA Fashion Week. “Metro Arts is thrilled to partner with Lady Silvia to present Ermelinda’s holiday designs in their gallery.”said Metro Arts program director, Patty Dominguez. “Ermelinda is an innovative, up and coming artist of style, who successfully fuses comfort and elegance, with the grace of classic design, and a fluid modern flair, into her line. Hosting this event allows Metro Arts Council to bridge the high fashion of the Strip, with the grass-roots creativity of Downtown; giving the public an unique way to review and re-discover Metro Arts, in the process.” In addition to the runway show, at 8:30pm, special DJ from New York, Angelo Scalici, will spin sounds live. Patrons will also be able to review video of the Zap 4 public art project, shown throughout the evening in the lounge. “Metro Arts Council is experiencing a period of growth and development, networking at local, state, and national levels to help integrate arts and culture into the fabric of our lives. Along with past and current projects, we are seeking resourceful new connections and ideas to sustain and transform arts and culture in Southern Nevada, helping to develop greater appreciation and resources for the roll of arts and culture in our communities. One of our projects, recently finished, which Metro Arts Council, Clark County Parks and Recreation Department and other local project partners supported during the past year, is the fourth incarnation of the popular Zap! public art series, employing utility boxes as canvas for local artists to bring art to underserved neighborhoods.” added
Dominguez, “During our evening at Lady Silvia’s we will be highlighting the successful completion of Zap 4, in the Cambridge neighborhood. Also, during our event we will have collection boxes for the Salvation Army’s Coats For Kids program, so please remember to bring your new and gently-used jackets on Thursday evening.” Along with other events of the night, come and explore the current show in the art gallery as you enjoy the sophisticated atmosphere of Downtown’s latest hot spot, the Lady Silvia Lounge, 900 Las Vegas Blvd, S, in the Soho Lofts. This free event will run from 7:00pm – 10:00pm, on Thursday, December 8th. The Red Carpet will be open from 7:00pm – 8:30pm, with the runway show beginning at 8:30pm; sounds provided by New York DJ/Producer Angelo Scalici.

STYLE FASHION WEEK INVADES VIBIANA!!!!

**The following press release and image are courtesy of BubbleFish Media**

Style Fashion Week arrives this October with runway shows at the elegant Vibiana and exclusive parties for attendees, buyers and designers.

Los Angeles , September 26, 2011 — On the heels of its spring success, Style Fashion Week launches its 2nd season this October during Market Week in downtown L.A. Hosting a week of collections, complete with runway-worthy designers and exclusive after-parties, SFW will once again set the bar for L.A. runway shows. The event launches Sunday, October 16th with a VIP Media Reception, setting a luxurious tone for the entire week. Six days of runway shows follow October 17th-22nd, featuring celebrity guests and fashion industry leaders.

Style Fashion Week will return to VIBIANA in downtown Los Angeles, as the former cathedral continues to offer an inspiring, timeless atmosphere. Preceded by 130 years of history, VIBIANA combines all of the drama and grandeur worthy of Fashion Week.

Monday, October 17th through Friday, October 21st will feature nationally-acclaimed designers such as Gypsy 05, Stop Staring!, Alternative Apparel, Fashion Biz Inc., Gen Art to name a few.

A leading lifestyle brand, Alternative Apparel brings its spring collection to Fashion Week on October 18th. Its spring line, “Oasis of Color, will feature rich textures, sun-bleached desert washes, bold prints and a vibrant color palette.” Expect to see “asymmetrical maxi-dresses and high-waisted mini-skirts in colorful prints, as well as a selection of must-have novelty pieces for women, including sheer, mesh tanks, cut-out sweatshirts and beaded Baja Cloth ponchos.” Alternative Apparel also produces a men’s line that will offer “breezy Baja Woven’s in hoodies, shorts, and button-downs” for spring.

With so much buzz about shopping local, Style Fashion Week welcomes the return of local designers, Gypsy 05 and Stop Staring. On October 18th, Stop Staring! will reveal a new collection of retro-inspired dresses that have an über-feminine, vintage feel. Following its namesake, Stop Staring! will ensure that your gaze stops when its line of curve-hugging looks takes on Fashion Week.

Gypsy 05, whose collection is made right here in Hollywood, will hit the runway on Wednesday, October 19th. According to these designers, “Gypsy 05 is a lifestyle brand that transitions from day to night attire with ease for both men and women. It is predominantly a t-shirt line, but they also like to incorporate unique casual dresses, pants, and sweaters.” The brand prides itself on “[continuing] to push the envelope in creating a truly distinctive collection.”

Rounding out the week on October 22nd, Gen Art will showcase an entire night of emerging fashion designers. With a track record of “alumni [including] Zac Posen, Rebecca Taylor, Philip Lim, Vena Cava, and Rodarte,” Gen Art continues its legacy fashion program, “Fresh Faces in Fashion.” SFW is honored to welcome this respected organization.

To keep things interesting, Style Fashion Week has kept a couple of surprise designers on tap, who will be unveiled as the event nears.

LAVUK’s collection for Fall 2011 is entitled Infinity- inspired by sharp lines that seem limitless, an art deco influence of long lines and symmetry with crisp angles. Likewise, designs are limitless- in style timelessly. Clothing with a meditative sense of presence removed from the hectic minutiae of day-to-day and grounded by a strong self. Colors range from Tibetan influences of power orange, deep purple, natural and old silver to a royal richness in old gold and deep navy.

About LAVUK
LAVUK is an eco-friendly line made in Los Angeles. Our designs blend classic silhouettes with futuristic looks so that styles are timeless but fashion-forward. Our goal is to create unusual and constructed looks from simple, comfortable materials that appeal to eco-conscious consumers, as well as to those just looking for a great product.

LAVUK clothing is sweatshop free and made locally in Los Angeles with sustainable materials such as organic cotton, tencel, hemp and dead stock silks. Our pieces are multi-functional, with subtle details that allow for alternate ways of styling each garment. We are committed to exceptional quality, and design our products to last a lifetime.

For every LAVUK garment you purchase, a tree is planted through American Forests as part of the California Wildfire ReLeaf program.

“I’m presenting an exhibit style show with video, models, and one sculpture. Fall/Winter is based on my life title, ”From water to Ice.” Water for when I was born at sea during the Vietnam War as my family was escaping Saigon. Ice for my pain when I was abducted at 8. The story/collection goes back to water again when I allowed myself to cry and feel human again. It’s a raw line and each piece (not to sound cheesy, but it is a piece of my life)– here is a preview link: www.issuu.com/lunecollection/docs/lunecollectionfallwinterpreview.”

Hollywood, CA (October 8, 2010) – HOPE4Children Foundation (H4CF) and L.A.
Models and their organizational partners comprised of events specialists, PR
experts, professional entertainers, and fashion show directors are producing
a star-studded and glamorous Post L.A. Fashion Week event entitled, Legion
of H.O.P.E. Fashion and Awards Gala to commemorate H4CF’s 5th year
anniversary. The event will be held at the chic Renaissance Hotel and Spa at
1755 N. Highland Avenue Hollywood, Ca 90028 on Friday, November 5, 2010. Red
carpet starts at 6:00 pm; VIP reception at 6:30 pm; Dinner at 7:30 pm. The

accessories will be provided by Left Turn Jewelry and M.A.I. Collections.
The gala will honor patrons of the arts and education.

H4CF is a nonprofit whose mission is to “Help Others Prosper through
Education.” Its philosophy is rooted in the power of education to level the
playing field and develop empowered leaders of the future by fostering
education and arts and mentorship in these fields among the youth and
emerging talents. In light of its mission, H4CF planned this gala is to
provide a venue for L.A. based artists to exhibit their creative geniuses.
To support emerging designers, H4CF launched the Little Black Dress Contest
to expose these artists to mainstream industry and media.

Grace Llana-Walker H4CF Founder said, “We anticipate an eclectic gathering
of about 500 movers and shakers comprised of artists, educators,
celebrities, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and politicians.” Walker
continues, “As a non-profit, we are relatively new but are lean and possess
effective cross-collaborative partnerships among public, private,
non-profit, and corporate entities. This is the new model for organizational
viability and this event will be an exemplar for this model.”

One of H4CF’s strategic partners is L.A. Models which will provide all the
professional models, choreography and staging. In just over 20 yrs of
operation in the fast-paced, high-stakes world of modeling, L.A. Models has
grown into one of the most powerful agencies in the industry and has worked
tirelessly to bring a significant international modeling presence to Los
Angeles. Francis Arden, H4CF gala organizing committee member and L.A.
Models runway agent, shared, “Our company is honored to partner with H4CF in
the pursuit of its mission to promote the arts among the youth. We look
forward to helping them in their mentoring programs.”

H4CF Board and Commissioner on the California State Board of Barbering and
Cosmetology Marie Lemelle adds, “The gala is also an opportunity to honor
our strategic partners and provide scholarships to deserving talents. H4CF
is blessed to have an extraordinary team of professionals dedicated to
making this event a success such as CRU Ad Agency and Parris Harris
Productions.” Dom Roma, principal at CRU said, “We’re excited to do the
marketing campaign for H4CF.” Parris Harris said, “This will be a top-notch

Post L.A. Fashion Week Gala Supports Emerging Designers through Contest

Hollywood, CA (October 9, 2010) – H.O.P.E.4Children Foundation (H4CF), L.A. Models, CRU Ad Agency and Parris
Harris Productions, in conjunction with the Legion of H.O.P.E. Fashion and Awards Gala on November 5, 2010 at
6:00 pm at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa in Hollywood, are launching the Little Black Dress (LBD) Contest to
provide a platform for emerging designers to showcase their work to mainstream fashion industry. The gala will
commemorate the 5th Year Anniversary of H.O.P.E4Children.

According to Grace Llana-Walker, H4CF Founder, “The LBD is one of the fashion icon staples of our time. Every
woman looks great wearing it, and every woman has to have one. It is the ensemble of recourse when a woman
panics, ‘I have nothing to wear!’ The LBD has endured major economic vicissitudes through the Roaring 20’s, Great
Depression, Post-war Prosperity, Reagonomics and up to today’s looming Double Dip Recession. Both timeless and
adaptable, the LBD has inspired designers since it was introduced by Chanel in 1926 with the classic pearl strand
pairings; by Dior’s “New Look” in the 50’s post-war era featuring Hollywood femme fatales in black halter-style
dresses; and by Givenchy in 1961, when the LBD reached its epitome in the sophisticated sheath of Audrey
Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Even the late classic fashionista Wallis Warfield Simpson, Duchess of Windsor,
said, ‘When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place.’”

It is in this sartorial backdrop that emerging designers are challenged to create a version of their LBD and present
their creation during the gala to a panel of celebrity judges. This contest will also enable applicants to participate
in a worthy philanthropic effort which is to foster H4CF’s mission pillars which is education, mentoring, outreach
and scholarship by donating their designs to H4CF’s silent auction.

Francis Arden of L.A. Models clarified, “Any emerging fashion designer is eligible. This refers to designers who
have created a line or collection in the past but need a little impetus in showcasing their work to mainstream
fashion industry. This is an excellent and cost-effective opportunity to garner media attention on a larger scale and
be part of promoting arts and fashion in the community.” Parris Harris added, “Be it classic, cocktail, sporty or
avant-garde, any dress is eligible as long as the designer conceives and executes it himself. We are looking for eight
cut above designers and will open the application until the positions are filled.”

The winner will receive a special press release announcing his win and his collection will be featured in the 2011
Legion of H.O.P.E. fashion and awards event. The winner will also receive a customized recognition plaque. Entries
will be judged by the event’s featured celebrity designers Jerell Scott (Project Runway #5), Mila Hermanovski
(Project Runway #7), Octavio Carlin (America’s Ballroom Challenge) and Sterling Williams (The Ultimate Merger).
Judges’ decisions are final.

LOVE CURES CANCER PRESENTS SECOND ANNUAL

TAKE A CHANCE ON LOVE CHARITY BENEFIT

Night Of Fashion, Art and Special Musical Guests Kicks Off In Hollywood On
Wednesday, February 10 at 8 p.m.

LOS ANGELES, CA – January 28, 2010 – Love Cures Cancer is hosting its second annual “Take A Chance On Love” red carpet charity event at Voyeur (7969 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90046) on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 8 p.m. – 2 a.m.

“Love Cures All was thrilled by the charitable support we received from Hollywood, the general public, and countless donors for our first ‘Take A Chance On Love’ event and the ‘Holiday Cheers Toy Drive Benefit,’” said Cyrus Ahanchian, President of Love Cures All. “Their love and generosity are invaluable to us, as it helps us continue our mission, and allows events like ‘Take A Chance On Love 2’ to raise as much awareness as possible of important causes.”

Presented by Love Cures Cancer and Project ETHOS, “Take A Chance On Love 2” will feature an open bar, silent auction, fashion show showcasing high-end women’s line, Goci, unique art installations and music by DJ Reflex (Kanye West, 50 Cent). All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to CHLA.

Love Cures All is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is “to spread love by leaving the world better than we found it. No overhead, no salaries… just love.” Founded by like-minded Hollywood filmmakers with the will to make a difference, its first initiative, Love Cures Cancer, leverages the founders’ unique access to celebrities and media production to raise funding for cancer research, as well as to improve the daily experience of young patients treated at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).

To encourage giving, Love Cures Cancer utilizes various digital outreach and fundraising strategies, such as videograms (Jessica Szohr (“Gossip Girl”) and Dianna Agron (“Glee”) have created their own here) and online donations. Last year, Love Cures Cancer events raised a total of $20,000 through the “Waiting Rooms Suck!” campaign. The funds raised were used to renovate and furnish CHLA’s new radiology lab waiting room with a Nintendo mobile Starlight Wii, flat screen televisions, DVDs, books, learning tools, and a body mass index analyzer from BioSpace America.

Tickets to “Take A Chance On Love 2” are $20 pre-sale and can be purchased at www.LoveCuresCancer.com and $30 at the door. Co-producers of the event include Project ETHOS and Mojoflo Productions.

The Noreen Fraser Foundation: The Noreen Fraser Foundation uses educational and awareness campaigns to raise funds for translational cancer research aimed at developing new prevention methods, diagnostic tools and non-toxic therapies to treat women’s cancers. Our hope is that until there is a CURE, women’s cancers will become manageable diseases which can be controlled with targeted treatments that protect patients’ quality of life. Noreen Fraser, a stage IV cancer survivor, has played a pivotal role in raising money and awareness of the importance of translational cancer research as co-creator and co-producer of Stand Up To Cancer, a movement which has raised over 100 million dollars for cancer research to date. Noreen Fraser also encourages people around the world to share their cancer related stories and videos with the Noreen Fraser Foundation by submitting directly to the NFF website at www.noreenfraserfoundation.org.

The Men For Women Now initiative hopes to inspire men to show their love and support for the women in their lives by asking them to schedule early detection tests. Noreen Fraser believes that women have traditionally been seen as the hand holders – she hopes that if the men in their lives offer up their support, more women will have tests and more lives will be saved. SIMPLY STYLIST ~~~ OCTOBER 14th-15th @ Siren Orange Studios

"Why not go to the root of where style starts and pamper these men/women for once..."

What started out as a concept between two sisters in 2005 while sitting in their Hollywood penthouse office became a two-day event where stylists can meet and network, while also being pampered with full service beauty and spa treatments.

The two sisters behind this latest industry event are Caroline Rothwell and Sarah Pollack, who also run Caro Marketing; specializing in art, music, fashion and technology. Popular brands they have launched include TOMS Shoes and ArynK.

They anticipate this year’s Simply Stylist  Pop-up PR Showroom event to be the biggest ever, with TOMS  Shoes as the head charity sponsor and TheLookbook.com as it’s co-host. TOMS will not only be showing their 2010 collection, but guests will have the opportunity to create their very own custom shoes. The proceeds will go to children in the impoverished areas around the world. Brands like: Ronald Abdala, Tahir Sultan, Paul & Joe Sister and Bordeaux  will be there. This event is not only for the stylists, but will also benefit the participating designers as well. Not only will there be 1oo top fashion/celebrity stylist contacts, but the reps can present the lines to THE “insider” event at LA fashion week, as well as the numerous media outlets that will be in attendance.

For more information, go to www.simplystylist.com or info@simplystylist.com. For Caro Marketing, go to www.caromarketing.com and their number is (323)781-2276. Also, check out www.tomsshoes.com and for a listing of over 3,000 fashion and accessory PR contacts, check out www.TheLookbook.com.

MAGID BERNARD

Press Release: Fashion/Events/Community

For immediate release: November 10, 2009

Los Angeles Designer, MAGID BERNARD, to present fashions at The Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles’ Second Annual “A Woman’s Story” Luncheon and Fashion Show

(Los Angeles, CA)  – The Wilshire Ballroom at The Beverly Hilton Hotel will be the posh venue for The Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles’ second annual fund raising luncheon and fashion show, entitled “A Woman’s Story”, on Friday, November 20, 2009. The $150 a plate event was launched in 2008 to support the organization’s family literacy programs and was attended by over 200 guests last year, including including prominent business men and women, community leaders and celebrities.  This year’s luncheon will be EMCEED by KTLA Morning Show anchor, Michaela Pereira, and event chair, Cristina Rose of Rose & Kindel.

The luncheon will feature a fashion show hosted by Wynn Develle, owner of DeVelle boutique in San Marino, CA and will spotlight the Fall 2009 Collection from the Los Angeles-based design team Michele and Magid Bernard (MAGID BERNARD).

For the event, the Bernards are taking a cue from the popular “Mad Men” television series and presenting a grouping of women’s cocktail suits, dresses, coats and evening gowns that exemplify the fashion industry’s return to old-school glamour this year.   “As a designer, it’s refreshing”, says design partner, Michele Bernard “we don’t see many curves on the runway anymore. And our clients can’t seem to get enough of this ultra feminine look.”   The Magid Bernard collection ranges from the cool, untouchable elegance of Grace Kelly-inspired suits, gowns and day wear to curve-hugging, smoldering-yet-classy styles reminiscent of the very best of Marilyn Monroe.   Mad Men’s Betty Draper and Joan Holloway will both want a front row seat for this gorgeous presentation.
MAGID BERNARD is a made-to-measure couture altelier located in the landmark New Mart building in downtown Los Angeles.  They serve an international clientele of business women, celebrities and community leaders and have been the recipient of numerous accolades and awards for their work.  They sell by private appointment, client-hosted gatherings, and through a handful of select boutiques worldwide.

DeVelle is an exclusive womens boutiquelocated in the Mission District of San Marino, California. Owner, Wynn Develle has been the proprietor for 20 years. She carries the MAGID BERNARD collection along with a complete offering of women’s finery from casual to special occasion.  DeVelle is located at 2509 Mission Street, San Marino, CA.

The Literacy Network of Greater Los Angeles was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in March, 1993. Its mission is to assist literacy efforts in the greater Los Angeles area by providing leadership, trained volunteers, curriculum assistance, advocacy, literacy resources and creating stronger public awareness to better serve individuals in becoming self-sustaining, productive members of our communities. We serve learners, literacy providers, and employers in the Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

“A Woman’s Story” Luncheon and Fasion Show will be held on Friday, Novemer 20th, 2009 from 11:30 am to 2:00pm at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, Wilshire Ballroom, 9876 Wilshire Blvd, Bevery Hills, CA 90210.  Tickets are $150 and may be purchased at www.theliteracynetwork.org or by calling 213-237-6726.
