This page is unlike the average “Style Blogger” category. I don’t have that talented boyfriend that is at my side 24/7, taking outfit pictures of me. I’m pretty low-key everyday and I’ll only take pictures of an outfit if I’m out n’ about in a cool outfit or at an event. This page is dedicated to my personal style and how it has evolved over the years. I do A LOT of DIY and I design some of my apparel and accessories. If you’d like me to make a custom garment or accessory, please contact me!

Comments are always appreciated!

Please note: All pictures are in order top to bottom, oldest to newest (like an evolution of my style, if you will…).

(Sponsored) **Playing with Junkfood**

Los Angeles -based brand Junkfood Clothing reached out to me and asked me to be apart of their first blogger project. They sent me the Venice Original Triblend Slub Foxy Tee from their Summer 2012 Originals collection to style to my liking. So, at the moment, my wardrobe is quite limited, so I reached out to to my friend Amara, owner of Haute Olive, a vintage and consignment boutique (located at 765 Maple Ave. corner of 8th n’ Maple LA 90014) and went to the store one afternoon and played around with some fun pieces to style around the tee. I styled the tee around a vintage/editorial theme…showing that you can dress up a basic (and comfy) tee and look great at a red carpet event or dinner with friends!

(Vintage Diane Freis Dress from Deja Vu Fashions, Vintage Hat from The Grove Vintage, “Lucca” Heels in Orange from Sole Society, “Heat of the Moment” Heels c/o Seychelles, Jewelry on loan from Tiffany Kunz, Vintage Clutch also on loan from Deja Vu Fashions.)

Side Note: So after a few hours wearing the gorgeous “Lucca,” the balls of my feet started to hurt. Luckily, I met the fab Elaine from Seychelles (who was there because the brand had shoes in the first runway show) and she happened to have an extra pair of the “Heat of the Moment” heels in my size. I wore them the rest of the day and it saved my feet. I HIGHLY recommend Seychelles as a comfortable shoe for the gal-on-the-go!

**(Sponsored) Tees by Tina Skirt**

Popular “one size fits most” (2-22, thanks to their seamless design) brand- Tees by Tina tapped me on the shoulder to partake in a Blogger Project, where I needed to style one of their Textured Pencil Skirt from their Summer 2012 collection to my liking. Well, let me first tell you that I love the skirt! I had it rolled up in my suitcase for a lil while and when I took it out, it wasn’t wrinkled and still kept its shape. The material is soft and I love the stripe texture. I love that you can wear it in a variety of ways: as a top, or high or low-waisted. I chose to wear mine (in black) on my high waist and paired it with a neutral vintage belt, blouse, clutch and fascinator; then added a pop of color with my red platforms. It was sort of a grunge meets 80s meets high fashion (day wear) look.

(Skirt c/o Tees by Tina, Vintage Blouse, Belt, Clutch were all thrifted, Fascinator made by me, Vintage Earrings purchased at Rose Bowl Flea Market and Heels c/o Sole Society.)

**(Sponsored) Striped Maxi Dress from**

I was having a difficult time trying to find a cute striped maxi dress…until I stumbled upon I found the Irregular Stripe Print Ankle Length Maxi Dress and it immediately got my thumbs up. I’m usually a small, but I ordered it in medium just to be on the safe side, as I was unfamiliar with this brand at first. When it arrived, the medium ended up fitting perfectly and the cotton fabric is very lightweight and breathable, which is quite nice in this Austin heat. I paired my dress with simple solid black bangle, red heels and a clutch, as I feel that the dress is already a statement in itself.

(Striped Maxi Dress c/o, Heels are Luichiny c/o Bakers, Vintage Clutch- thrifted in Ohio, Headpiece made by me, Vintage Bangle gifted from a friend.)

**(Sponsored) Mixing Prints with Yoana Baraschi**

Huge thanks for the ladies over at Yoana Baraschi for allowing me to pick out this adorable Balinese Paisley Pencil Skirt in sunshine (the sunshine is sold out) from their Summer/Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Fortunately, the skirt arrived in perfect time, because I needed an outfit for a blogger event in Houston. Knowing me, I didn’t want to pair this skirt with anything ordinary. I chose a vintage and thrifted black and white polka-dot top, black heels and a wide black belt. I wanted minimal accessories, so I opted for a vintage black hat, red vintage clutch and a statement bow necklace that I made. I thought that black and small hints of red and blue complemented the skirt, without clashing or being too overpowering. The skirt itself is just lovely and fit exceptionally well. The crepe de chine is somewhat sheer, so I made sure to wear a nude, seamless panty to prevent any wardrobe disaster. I’m excited to put more wear into this skirt and just be creative in dressing out of the norm. Yoana Baraschi is and forever will be known in my book as timeless and classic.

(Skirt c/o Yoana Baraschi, Vintage Hat was thrifted, Vintage Clutch was thrifted, Heels are H by Halston via Bakers, Vintage Tops are thrifted, Bow Statement Necklace made by me, Ring c/o Modtoast.)

**(Sponsored) Going Eco with Austin Yarn Company**

**Photography by Naomi Loghry**

I was given three handbags from Austin Yarn Company to style to my liking. Since the Evelyn, Alexis and Crystal look more ‘evening,’ I decided to show off their versatility for day time. I mixed vintage with modern for sophisticated day looks that could easily transition to a night on the town as well. The above slideshow is the result. **(Sponsored) Fearless Fashion**

(Top c/o Heather via Shoppe PR, Orange Denim Shorts c/o Big Star USA, Vintage Dooney & Bourke Purse thrifted, Wedges c/o Two Lips.)

I was so excited when the folks at Cosmopolitan Magazine and Palladium tapped me on the shoulder to participate in their ‘Fearless Fashion’ campaign. It came as a complete surprise when a pair of cute striped peep-toe wedges arrived at my door from Two Lips Shoes. I loved that “Too Dash” was a platform wedge and I thought that the ankle strap added that extra pizazz if you will. Did I also mention that the showstopping shoes only cost a mere $50?! My mission was to fearlessly style them in any way I chose. Since I wanted the shoes to stick out, I chose the perfect pair of neon orange shorts and sticking to the color palette of the shoes- a chic navy tee. The look was simple, but I’ll be darned if I didn’t feel confidant and fearless wearing those bad boys!

I really enjoyed putting this outfit together. I felt it needed something mysterious and daring….so I thought… well, I’m in New Orleans. I saw all these great masks and thought that a simple black mask would be the perfect complement for this bold outfit.

(Vintage Top – thrifted, Vintage Coach Handbag from Deja Vu Fashions in Claremont, Denim c/o Lotus Premium Denim, Heels c/o Sole Society, “Be Calm and Vote” Button c/o BCBG. )

I had fun styling this outfit…. Thanks for the inspiration Sole Society for getting folks to dress up for the election with their shoes! And apparently the “Yo Vote” sticker is how it’s done in Austin… Either way, getting ‘the sticker’ meant EVERYTHING. The location of this shoot was taken in beautiful San Leon, TX… if you are ever in the Houston area, take a drive down there, it’s quiet, beautiful and relaxing.

**Victorian Juxtaposition with YSL**

I attended Austin designer- Steven Moser’s show at the Driskill… Henry-my boss at Big Bertha’s helped style me for this event. Since Steven Moser is known for over-the-top/high fashion, I knew I had to look the part as well. And yes, the night was indeed a success!

**(Sponsored) Level 99 Denim **

The folks at Michele Marie PR once again tapped me on the shoulder for another blogger styling contest. This time, it was with Level 99 denim, which launched in 2004 in Los Angeles. They specialize in crafting premium womens denim using the latest in fiber technology and washing processes. I chose the “Janice” ultra-skinny in ‘Basset’ (houndstooth print) and for the contest, I paired (or rather layered) the denim with two tops- both bright and airy (and best of all- thrifted). The weather in Austin is somewhat bi-polar in that it can get cold…but most days, it’s like Spring or Summer. Since it was rather Spring-like the day of the shoot, I opted for those tops and leopard-print heels. I absolutely love the fit of the jeans! They live up to the their ‘ultra-skinny’ name, but also are stretchy enough for that added comfort. So that means if you decide to have that gigantic burrito at your local Mexican restaurant, the jeans will still fit because of the generous amount of elasticity in the waist. Anyway, humor aside, Level 99 Denim is offering some amazing prints and colors. How about metallic skinnies for the holidays? Check out for collection deets and shopping of course!

Ok, let me just say that even though my outfit wasn’t quite as flashy as everyone else’s… I was wearing an AUTHENTIC 1920s dress. It was so delicate, but felt so great to be wearing a piece of history.

It seems that I just immediately am drawn to the Southwest and Arizona when it comes to styling myself for the AZ Blogger Conferences. Even at last year’s, yellow and red were the choice of colors. Isn’t the vintage maxi skirt just AH-mazing!?

**(Sponsored) Vintage with my Sneaker Wedges **

When Santa Barbara-based footwear brand- Koolaburra reached out to me to try out a style from their new Spring 2013 collection, I immediately jumped at the chance. Koolaburra is originally known for their sheepskin footwear, but they have recently transitioned into doing platform wedges, stiletto heels, clogs and sandals. It was a hard decision as I scanned their lookbook for the right pair. Usually I’d be more inclined to grab the platforms…buttttt…. I was gauging more towards the sneaker wedges. I ended up choosing the PRESTON sneaker wedge because I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and because I just had to see (and try out) for myself just why the sneaker wedge is so catchy.

When I received them and put them on for the first time, I concluded that they actually weren’t that bad. They are easy to fling on and go with their velcro closures and they are incredibly comfortable and I can walk in them without feeling like I have to be careful when walking in (like I do in other heels and such). As far as styling them is concerned, I (of course), wanted to step ‘outside-the-box.’ I chose to wear them with a vintage dress, clutch and necklace-as-headwear during an Austin Fashion Week event. They were comfortable and didn’t threaten to break an ankle as I had to scrunch down in the media pit to take photos during the runway show. These shoes are definitely a keeper and I’m excited to see how else I can style them for events or whatnot.

Huge thanks to the folks at Kenworks and Koolaburra!

These “cute, loose pants with bow” are the perfect addition to my wardrobe! The airy fabric is perfect, as it doesn’t really get cold here in Texas. So basically I can wear them any season. They site nicely on my high waist and sway delicately as I walk. They are from, a UK fashion site with an incredible amount of on-trend clothing and accessories for men and women.

**Standing in the Hall of Presidents **

It was my first time visiting the David Adickes Sculpturworx in the Heights neighborhood in Houston. It was such a beautiful day and I had an amazing time checking out the giant sculptures of the heads of our nation’s past presidents and the exaggerated statues of The Beatles. It was only fitting that I took out my new Melissa Velia royal blue shorts with a cute bow at the waist for a spin. The shorts (from her SS14 collection) are ultra-feminine and best of all- made in Los Angeles. I chose to play it up with a colorful vintage secretary blouse, a blue vintage sequin jacket, bright red vintage clutch and red platforms. The array of color contrasted greatly against the neutral palette of the sculptures.

(Shorts- c/o Melissa Velia, Vintage Blouse bought from Lady Jane Vintage, Vintage Sequin Jacket bought from Blackbird Trading Co., “Jolie” necklace as headpiece bought from Stella & Dot, ‘Siren Sabine’ Sunglasses c/o Darylynn Eyewear, Vintage Clutch- thrifted, Luichiny Heels via Bakers.)

**Pocketful of Daisies **

Summer is in full swing here in Houston and there are plenty of adventures to be had that include water: the pool, the beaches in Galveston, water parks and more. So, when the thermometers rise for a good several months out of the year, it’s only natural for a gal to invest in a few swimsuits to wear intermittently throughout the season. This season, I turned to one of my friends and LA designer- Rochelle Carino. Rochelle recently launched her first swimwear collection- fun, flirty and ultra-feminine. Since the day she first posted it on Facebook, I fell head over heels for the Daisy Bikini. The peter pan collar, bold daisy print and girly ruffles were very well played into this vintage (very 60s) inspired bikini. It fits amazingly well and of course is made in Los Angeles.

Rochelle is offering 30% off her website in celebration of her birthday. Enter BIRTHDAY at checkout. This offer is good until July 19th.

(Daisy Bikini bought on Rochelle’s website, Sunglasses are ZeroUV, Vintage Petal Swimcap bought at an Arbor Antiques estate sale, Heels are H by Halston via Bakers.)
