I was recently introduced to LulaRoe when I received a pair of leggings and a dress that I had won in a giveaway.

LulaRoe was launched about three years ago by DeAnne and Mark Stidham. The name “LulaRoe” was inspired by DeAnne’s granddaughers- Lucy, Lola and Monroe. The brand started out by only making 1,000 units of any print; but now that they are growing, the number has risen to 2,500, thus making the designs more unique. For more information and to look into becoming a consultant, check out LulaRoe.com or join a Consultant VIP Facebook Group, where you can participate in online pop-up shops.

I took my LulaRoe dress out for a morning at Green Street. Since it was somewhat chilly, I added my vintage jacket and paired them with my vintage Lauren Ralph Lauren concha belt. My vintage booties added for a laid-back boho vibe.

Houston’s Discovery Green, a lush greenspace located in the heart of Downtown, offers numerous art installations throughout the year. The one that particularly caught my eye was the latest: Los Trompos or ‘Spinning Tops’ – a colorful interactive space that resembles the familiar children’s toy. It was created by Mexico City designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena and was inspired by nature and traditional Latin American design, architecture and folk art.

Earlier this week, I grabbed Sofia for an early morning shoot there. I chose to wear all black because I wanted to show the contrast with the vibrant art.

** Los Trompos can be accessed at the park’s Sarofim Picnic Lawn from November 14, 2015 – March 22, 2016. **
