365 Hangers "Style-A-Thon" Event

I had the amazing opportunity to do the DIY Lounge during the “Style-A-Thon” event, presented by 365 Hangers and was held in the little courtyard at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood.. We made headbands using elastic, wire, feathers and pipe cleaners. The event featured several vendors including Mr. Kate, run by blogger, jewelry designer and “jane-of-all-trades”-Kate Albrecht. Her jewelry consists of fun and quirky metal rings (the mustache being the most popular), ear cuffs, necklaces and bracelets. Check out Mr. Kate.com. Dama Handbags graced us with their presence during the event. Dama provides stylish and trendy handbags from a variety of eco-friendly designers and are Vegan Certified. To shop this Los Angeles-based brand, check out Dama Handbags.com. 365 Hangers- the popular ecommerce shop that caters to high-end designers at affordable prices, was also on hand to sell their goods during the event. They also put on a small fashion show showcasing cute clothing just in time for Spring. The show was styled by local LA bloggers: Ari of La Catrina de la Moda, Shauna of Penny Chic, Michelle of Broke Girl’s Guide, Monique of Curves and Chaos. I ended up buying the purple tribal (esque) print Patterson J. Kincaid maxi dress that Ari had on. It looked amazing on her and when I tried it on. It even had a subtle (very subtle) high-low hem which also helped seal the deal. After the show, I was able to continue checking out the vendors and sponsors: Shop Belina Jewelry (loved the starfish cuff and “Lizzie” neon bracelet. Definitely check them out of festive and stylin’ jewelry for your next function or at the office. The other vendors and sponsors include: Nicolita Swimwear, Chipkos, Jewelmint, One Sole Shoes, NCLA, Pop Chips, Argo Tea, DRY Soda, The Candy Chef and Pure Ice. Thank you to the DJs that kept the party groovin throughout the day- HM Soundsystem and media partner- FIDOO. I would love to thank Sasha, Ferial and the rest of the 365 Hangers team for the wonderful day!

A Fashionable Afternoon @ Hollywood Tower!

My friend, Kate and I ventured over to Hollywood to hang out at the “An Afternoon of Fashion” event held at the exclusive Hollywood Tower Apartments. The afternoon was filled with friends, shopping, food trucks (Cool Haus, Crepe ‘n Around and Get Toasted) and a pit-stop at 101 Coffee Shop. There was a VIP Blogger Lounge, put on by Sasha of LA Inspiration, Deniz of Le Fashion Monster and Melissa of The Key to Chic (and working for Bakers blog- Shoeternity, that day). It was really nice that the blogger lounge was set up inside the lobby of the Hollywood Tower, as the temperature was a scorcher that day! Guests had their choice of mingling, having fun in the photo booth and sipping some lemonade, kindly provided by fab LA-based swimwear line- Haus of Pink Lemonaid Of course, there was also plenty of shopping to be had. Vendors include: William B + Friends, Le Fashion Truck, Blaque Label, Jewelmint, Skulltastic, Wood Eco-Eyewear, Pocket Square Clothing and more! Tunes were provided by 98.7.

It was my first time stopping by the Le Fashion Truck- a cute little fashion boutique on wheels. The mobile shop on wheels was created by friends and small business owners- Stacey Steffe and Jeanine Romo. The shop features their lines, indie and local labels, as well as some vintage items. I thought that the little dressing room (and the fact that they were able to fit a dressing area in the truck) was just the cutest thing! Check out more information on Le Fashion Truck here. There was also another mobile fashion boutique on hand- William B + Friends- which is a mobile designer sample sale truck. William B + Friends was founded in 1985 and sold apparel, accessories and home decor at competitive pricing. Find out more on their website and Facebook. I met with Chris Erven, one of the co-founders (CJ Thomason is the other co-founder) of Wood Eco Eyewear (Sires Crown Eyewear), an LA-based accessories line that features trendy wooden shades of all styles and sizes. Worried about prescription glasses… they’ve got you covered! Their goal is to plant over 100,000 trees with help from ‘Trees for the Future.’ Check out more information here.

It was such a lovely afternoon and I’d like to thank Hollywood Tower apartments, the vendors and the bloggers who hosted the VIP Blogger Lounge. I’d also like to thank the 101 Coffee Shop, where we had a late-afternoon lunch. The veggie sandwich and sweet potato fries were amazing!!
