Find your Magic:Putting It All Together event by LZ & Macy's
Weeks back, Macy’s at Victoria Gardens and TV host Lawrence Zarian(LZ), hosted the Find your Magic: Putting It All Together event. Zarian, otherwise known as “The Fashion Guy” has been seen on Live with Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight and KTLA’s The Morning Show. He has chosen to partner up with Macy’s because they offer the hottest styles for everyone, while keeping at a price that everyone could afford. Not only is Lawrence an impeccable dresser and undoubtedly handsome, but he also has the best personality and charmed the hell out of us that day. He presented us with a contest: six people from the audience could participate in three different styling scenarios (two people per scenario): “Business Attire”- where fashion meets function in the business world; “Figure-Flattering”- the average woman is a size 14-16…; and lastly “Girls Night Out”. Each contestant had one minute to style a model from the rack of clothing and accessories on their side of the stage. The model would then get dressed in the chosen outfit and then walk the runway. The audience would then vote for the person who’s model was the best-dressed and the winner would receive a $100 Macy’s gift card. I had the opportunity to style for the “Business Attire” category, dressing my model in a chic Michael Kors dress, black clutch, necklace and cute red heels. You would really be surprised that a minute is actually a long time! I didn’t end up winning the gift card, but took home an autographed photo of Lawrence. Throughout the competition, Lawrence would chime in with style tips, such as: the best dressed accessory is a great smile; less is always more; the 80s are back, though more subdued; purple is key, you can wear it throughout the year and metallics have as much versatility as nude. After the event, he hung around for autographs, pictures and offered to go around and help people shop if anyone needed it. Dear Macy’s, please have more events like this, especially when the customers are able to participate for a chance to win some cash!
Special Thanks: Lawrence Zarian, the folks at Macy’s who volunteered and/or put this event together, the contestants, models and Stephanie and Britton at beeverywhere and for gifting me a $50 Macy’s card.
