Spring Denim Launch @ Alice + Olivia

I braved the traffic and attended the launch of Alice + Olivia’s Spring denim at their store on Robertson Blvd. This is the company’s first denim launch since the eclectic Stacey Bendet launched the brand in 2002. Stacey embodies her love of vintage, music and art into every collection. It was my first time in an A+O store and her vision was everywhere, from the clothing (of course) to the store display fixtures. If you are a fan of color (like myself) then you have found your “clothing soul mate” with this brand. Just seeing the splashes of color put me in a better mood and I would definitely benefit having one of everything in my closet. Their new Spring denim collection includes bright solids, florals and stripes (neutral black and white and candy stripes) and are available in a variety of silhouettes (bell bottoms, shorts, skinnies, etc). Since this was a “launch party”, they were offering guests free color-block manicures by Gelish and make-up touch ups by Make Up Forever. I also had my aura read by certified Reiki healer and psychic- Jennifer. In addition, guests were also treated to an open candy bar, lemonade and an all-around good time! For more information and shop the collection, check out the Alice + Olivia website.

The Robertson Blvd. Alice + Olivia store is located at 134 Robertson Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90048. I’d like to thank the staff and Alanna for the wonderful evening!

Motif LA Opening Party

I attended an opening party for the cafe/lifestyle boutique- Motif, located on Robertson Blvd. near Beverly Hills. Having just opened, Motif was founded by sisters- Elishia Bolour and Sasha Shokrian. Together, they combined their skills; Elishia’s background in interior design and hospitality and Sasha’s knowledge of organic farming and opened Motif. The cafe was quaint and inspired by homey cafes in college towns. The menu was plentiful and provided organic, vegan and seasonal options; as well as a variety of coffees and teas. It’s a nice atmosphere for meeting friends or just relaxing and browsing the net, using their free wifi. The boutique side offers 21st century apparel, furniture and other home goods that are consigned. Picture Chanel, Louboutin, Prada, Hermes and Lanvin, as well as other fabulous designers. The sisters travel the globe in search of fabulous finds and are always on the lookout for unique and emerging designers to add to their eclectic store. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, are looking for unique gifts (like a Chanel lamp or a Louis Vuitton tray), stop by, shop and maybe have a light lunch while you’re at it.

Motif LA is located at: 930 S. Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035. Hours are M-F: 8am-6pm.

Special thanks to the folks at Motif LA and Casey C. and Ann Flower at Ann Flower Communications.

Kami Shade/Supastar Fashion Show

Designers Kami Shade and Rachael Broussard showcased their lines during an exclusive runway event at the Rebecca Molayem Gallery on Robertson Blvd. during LA Fashion Week. My friend, Rochelle Carino of Rumple Munkeh (who’s floral mini dress I wore to the event) and I sat in the front row and watched as Kami Shade’s line was the first to go down the runway. Kami’s collection of sexy swimsuits, couture dresses, casual dresses, and sparkly minis is called “I Am Every Woman” because the four-way stretch in the garments forms to every women’s shape. According to Kami, “There’s no mannequin that helps design for all body types…” I absolutely LOVE Kami’s swimsuits. The cut especially… they are made that you can wear them SIX different ways! And of course the prints… My favs are the polk-dot and striped. I am also proud to say that I now own a Kami Shade striped swimsuit! I recommend that YOU pick up your Kami Shade suit at www.kamishade.com before the next beach season starts!

There was a brief intermission and then Rachael Broussard’s line, “Supastar” rocked the runway. The first model was none other than Rachael herself, in a mini gold ruched dress with zipper detailing in the front. Her collection Supastar was also combined with her couture collection R. Michel’le Couture because she had a mix of casual and couture wear in the presentation. Rachael chose the name ‘Supastar’ because it was her nickname and she wants to promote in both Supastar and R. Michel’ le is “for girls to embrace the star within themselves and bring out the ‘Supastar’ from deep within! And what I try to create is very different clothing for a new and fun look, that brings you to that ‘Star’ level!” She had some cute pieces, like the long striped dress with a vest , a long tank top dress, etc… You can shop the “Supastar” line and learn more about the multi-talented model and designer Rachael Broussard at www.supastarworld.com.
