“Rosie the Riveter” became one of America’s most talked about campaigns during World War Two. The famous image depicting a woman- strong and fierce- clad in a red and white polka dot bandana and mechanic’s jumpsuit, exclaiming “We can do it!” became an icon for helping to recruit women to the munitions industry. The image is still to this day…an iconic part of our history.
I chose to wear my vintage mens mechanic jumpsuit that I found at an estate sale for brunch at the Kraftsmen Cafe in The Heights. I was meeting up with my friend Sofia, who is an amazing local photographer (find her on instagram @itssofiaemm) and Chasmine- blogger at The Glamazon.
After an amazing and tummy-satisfying brunch, we headed outside and did a mini photoshoot. The industrial and somewhat minimal setting outside the cafe resonated for a great photo backdrop. It was here that I showed that vintage mechanic jumpsuits are pretty badass, with or without heels.
