Sip n' Shop "Girls Night Out" Event

I was overjoyed to hear that there was a fun shopping event near my neck-o-the-woods at the Aloft Hotel in Rancho Cucamonga. The Sip n’ Shop “Girls Night Out” event started back in 2007 and is the brainchild of Myisha Turner. Myisha was living in San Bernardino county at the time and after attending a similar event in LA, later researched the event and found out that prices for being a vendor were outrageous. So, knowing of some women who were talented crafters and owned small businesses, why not start up a shopping event for the folks in the IE?! And thus, Sip n’ Shop was born…
Myisha not only founded the event, but she is also a proud vendor. She has the line, Bohemian Spirit- a jewelry line of fun, bright and inspirational pieces that can be worn alone or stacked (to create that ‘boho’ look). In 2009, she quit her day job and turned her passion into her new full-time job. Her favorite pieces and best-sellers are the Affirmation bracelets-which can be purchased separately or together. According to Turner, “They make such a powerful statement with 4 silver beads stamped individually with the words love, joy, peace, and faith. My customers have told me that they wear their Love, Peace, Faith, and Joy Affirmation Bracelets everyday because it gives them a pick me up throughout the day, and reminds them that the words they are wearing on their wrists are what’s really important in the world.” Her products are very affordable, ranging from $10 (in her ‘budget-nista’ bin) to $75. You can purchase BSJ at the DenM Gallery in Redlands (other stores/boutiques coming soon), as well as her online store. Be sure to also check out her blog. So remember, in the words of the official BSJ slogan:{Be unique} {Be free}! Another vendor selling that night was Toushonta Hogan, who started Scentsational Soaps in 2007. Their products are not only soaps, but body butters, bath salts, salt glows, candles as well. Their best-selling items are the cold processed soaps and body butters. Their prices are also reasonable, ranging from $8-$35. Shop their online store! I had the pleasure of running into the lovely Tasha Thompson of The Duchess Club. The Duchess Club was created for the trendy fashionistas on a budget. They also have their own line, ‘Genuinely Duchess’- which consists of head wear, jewelry, custom tees and handbags. Their large shell earrings have been extremely popular and come in Orange Burst, Midnight Peach, Blue, Green and Pink. They are currently having a sale on all the earrings- 3 pairs for $18, including FREE shipping within Southern California. The handbags (not just their line, but they also carry Nicole Lee and Vintage) are selling for $15-$110. Their t-shirt line will be launching at the end of June, so stay tuned! Their site is undergoing maintenance, but check them out on Facebook! There are numerous talented crocheters out there…One of them was showcasing her accessories that evening- Ms. Tracy Ambrose. Her line is called Tracy Ambrose W.R.A.P. and specializes in swim/beach wear, hats, sweaters, pullovers, neck warmers, etc. She started her company in 2004 after many compliments from her co-workers. I saw the cutest earrings, rings, flip-flop accessories and bracelets at the show! Check out her online store to stock up for those chilly LA nights! (Yes, they exist!) My other gal pal, Myisha McCarthy had a pop-up shop for her Springcart Boutique. The purses and clutches she was selling—FAB!! Be check out her online store here. Other vendors of the evening: Scentsy- they’re kinda like candles, only wick less and are decorative warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb. There are numerous scents, all of which smell delightful. They also sell car air fresheners. Deeply Rooted Apparel is next on the list, founded by Lauri Michelle, and offers faith-based sayings on tees, tanks, hats, etc. The company’s motto: “HIS word. Your style.” Lastly, the last vendors were: Prim and Proper Jewelry, Mary Kay, Body by Vi, The Lash Resort, Nina Fleurina, She Makes Scents, Stella and Dot and Apron Diva-who created fun aprons, as well as purses made from recycled denim. The best part of the evening was the complimentary massage provided by Massage Envy in North Fontana.

Special Thanks: Myisha Turner, all the vendors, Aloft Hotel.
