One of my favorite denim brands- Doctrine Jeans and creative marketing/events agency- No Subject put on a fun and intimate DIY event at Space 15 Twenty. It was just in time for prepping outfits for Coachella and hosted by the delightful blogger- Jazzi McG. She was on hand to help the guests craft, sew and create their denim to their liking (as well as Johnny of The Denim Guy). On display were other DIY’d denim shorts by local bloggers: La Catrina de la Moda, Reyalfashion, Cambio, Thanks I Made It Blog, Some Notes on Napkins and A House in the Hills. It was such a fun event and I look forward to wearing my DIY shorts in the coming weeks!
Thank you to Chelsea M. from No Subject, Jazzi McG and Johnny P!!
I had the amazing opportunity to do the DIY Lounge during the “Style-A-Thon” event, presented by 365 Hangers and was held in the little courtyard at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood.. We made headbands using elastic, wire, feathers and pipe cleaners. The event featured several vendors including Mr. Kate, run by blogger, jewelry designer and “jane-of-all-trades”-Kate Albrecht. Her jewelry consists of fun and quirky metal rings (the mustache being the most popular), ear cuffs, necklaces and bracelets. Check out Mr. Kate.com. Dama Handbags graced us with their presence during the event. Dama provides stylish and trendy handbags from a variety of eco-friendly designers and are Vegan Certified. To shop this Los Angeles-based brand, check out Dama Handbags.com. 365 Hangers- the popular ecommerce shop that caters to high-end designers at affordable prices, was also on hand to sell their goods during the event. They also put on a small fashion show showcasing cute clothing just in time for Spring. The show was styled by local LA bloggers: Ari of La Catrina de la Moda, Shauna of Penny Chic, Michelle of Broke Girl’s Guide, Monique of Curves and Chaos. I ended up buying the purple tribal (esque) print Patterson J. Kincaid maxi dress that Ari had on. It looked amazing on her and when I tried it on. It even had a subtle (very subtle) high-low hem which also helped seal the deal. After the show, I was able to continue checking out the vendors and sponsors: Shop Belina Jewelry (loved the starfish cuff and “Lizzie” neon bracelet. Definitely check them out of festive and stylin’ jewelry for your next function or at the office. The other vendors and sponsors include: Nicolita Swimwear, Chipkos, Jewelmint, One Sole Shoes, NCLA, Pop Chips, Argo Tea, DRY Soda, The Candy Chef and Pure Ice. Thank you to the DJs that kept the party groovin throughout the day- HM Soundsystem and media partner- FIDOO. I would love to thank Sasha, Ferial and the rest of the 365 Hangers team for the wonderful day!
I had the pleasure of hosting a DIY session at the Holiday Swap ‘n Shop at Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood. The event was hosted by the fabulous folks at FIDOO.com. FIDOO is a helpful search engine that will tell you what brands are in what stores, all over the USA and will eventually reach oversees as well. Brands are able to create profiles and share social media updates, products, their website, etc. Be sure to check out their website here. The event was a chance for me to clean out my closet for the swap. In addition to the swap, there were a number of vendors, including: Lisa Michelle Collection, Han Cholo, Karlita Designs, Ohara, Future Standard, Project iPaw, Valou and more. Hosting a DIY was fun, especially because I could do what I enjoyed, which was making elaborate headbands. Supplies included tulle, rings, chain, sequin elastic, felt, garland and mini ornaments. Local bloggers who partook in the DIY were Teresa and Emily from The Style Map, Sasha from LAInspiration and Megyn from I Want It Fashion. I really enjoyed meeting new people and just having a blast! It was a great way to spend a Thursday evening.
I want to thank Jackie, who hosted the event, which also benefited the Los Angeles Youth Foundation; as well as all the vendors Space 15 Twenty , PopChips, 365 Hangers, the rest of the gracious sponsors and the folks at FIDOO.com.
